Pietroso is a family owned winery operated by Gianni Pignattai and his wife Cecilia located on the southern slopes of Montalcino at about 400 metres. Ideally situated with viticulture references dating back to the 14th century it is now one of the pre-eminent producers of Brunello di Montalcino. Ian D’Agata from Vinous says “I can’t think of a single Montalcino estate that has improved more over the last 15 years than Pietroso” The Montosoli wine is made from a single vineyard on the famous Montosoli hill of Montalcino

Bright dark red-ruby. Expressive aromas of blueberry, nutmeg, flowers and herbs, with an undertone of graphite; with a much darker nose than usual. Bright and subtle, with stone fruit and spice flavors framed by harmonious acidity. Elegant, with a suave, classically dry finish.
