The 2016 Civettaio Maremma is garnet in colour with deep intensity. It has fresh with fruity aromas with a mouth full of plum and red berries with a hint of licorice and soft rounded tannins.
IL Civettaio produces award winning organic and biodynamic red and rose’ wines, typical of the Maremma . The cultivation is strictly organic and biodynamic and all the Civettaio wines are certified organic by ICEA.
As an organic winemaker Gregorio relies on nature to do most of the work. He is fortunate to have a great region to grow his grapes. Piero Antinori believes the Montecucco area is most conducive to the quality growth of sangiovese in Italy. As a result Gregorio’s wines age beautifully with elegance and balance.
